About Us - Wisconsin Veterans Museum
The Wisconsin Veterans Museum is rooted in the 1901 founding of the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) Memorial Hall in the Wisconsin State Capitol. Today, the museum has risen to become Wisconsin’s premier military history museum and is a key educational activity of the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs .

Every day, our staff works to continue the charge of the Wisconsin Civil War veterans, whose prescient quest was to show that “Every Veteran is a Story.”

Since 1992 the Foundation has assisted the museum staff with preserving of our veterans' stories through the development of exhibits, presentation public programs, acquisition of historic objects, and engagement in activities to advance the Museum's mission.
