Nov 15, 2022 · The only key difference, visually, between them is that Super Saiyan 2 is depicted with lightning in the aura, whereas Super Saiyan, in general, isn't. While the anime tended to skew this somewhat, with lightning in the aura at times for regular Super Saiyan, in the manga it's generally lightning just for Super Saiyan 2.

Mar 3, 2018 · Usually you tell ssj2 by the hair line/part(it's especially noticable with Goku and caulifla). Instead of a single split, it does a double split thing. Edit: after looking at Goku's ssj2, it looks like more of his bangs stand on end in ssj2 vs ssj, making it have that "2 hair line" thing.

I believe the OP was specifically asking if Vegeta was always in the Super Saiyan 2 form throughout the Buu arc, or if he only transformed to Super Saiyan 2 when we see him power up. Not whether he had access to it prior to that moment or not.

Vegeta as a Super Saiyan Second Grade. This stage appears similar to that of the standard Super Saiyan form, with subtle differences. The flowing, golden hair becomes slightly more rigid.

Vegeta's hair is more defined as a Super Saiyan 2, and of course he has the more wicked aura with the lightning in it. The manga was very clear on this aspect.

Apr 12, 2020 · With Saiyans like Goku, Vegeta, Future Trunks, and Caulifla, on the other hand, their hair extends out to the sides more so than it does when in the standard Super Saiyan form. Goku, in particular, has fewer bangs as a Super Saiyan 2.

Jan 1, 2025 · Vegeta was talking about surpassing the SSJ wall or something when he talked about going to the RoSaT to train & surpass the androids & Cell. Is it possible that all SSJs are all around the same power, higher or lower, depending on their person/power-level/limits. SSJs cap then can be upped a-bit, after unlocking a new form or something.

Super Saiyan 2 is a significant step from SSJ1, offering twice the power increase at x100. This was a form that seemed like the pinnacle of Saiyan strength until SSJ3 randomly popped up.

Aug 5, 2005 · That's why their hair in the first picture you posted makes them appear to be Ssj when they were Ssj2 (they are shown with that same style of hair alongside the tell-tale Ssj2 lightning), whereas the second picture more definitively shows them as Ssj2.
