Shaun is the main character of the series and the leader of the flock. He is a clever sheep and keeps his head. He has a good friendship with Bitzer and very smart. He is voiced by Justin Fletcher. Bitzer is the strict and loyal dog of the farmer, and Shaun's friend.

The Farmer is the owner of Mossy Bottom Farm where the whole series of Shaun the Sheep takes place. The Farmer usually goes about his daily business unaware that his sheep are anything but normal animals and Bitzer is determined to keep it that way.
