Cthulhu Mythos deities are a group of fictional deities created by American author H. P. Lovecraft (1890–1937), and later expanded by others in the fictional universe known as the Cthulhu mythos. These entities are usually depicted as immensely powerful and utterly indifferent to humans.

Zushakon is the god of death to the Mutsun tribe of California. Zushakon has an intense hatred of light and will slay anyone who exposes one of his sacred artifacts to it. He can be summoned by the ringing of three specially consecrated bells.

In stories written before and after Lovecraft's death, the Elder Gods oppose the Outer Gods and the Great Old Ones. They were first featured in "The Lair of the Star-Spawn", by August Derleth and Mark Schorer, in 1932.

Yog-Sothoth is a fictional cosmic entity and Outer God created by H. P. Lovecraft. He is a core part of the Cthulhu Mythos (which Lovecraft would refer to facetiously as "Yog-Sothothery"). Born of the Nameless Mist, he is the progenitor of Cthulhu, Hastur the Unspeakable, and the ancestor of the Voormi. He is also the father of Wilbur Whateley.

Azathoth is a deity in the Cthulhu Mythos and Dream Cycle stories of writer H. P. Lovecraft and other authors. He is the supreme deity of the Cthulhu Mythos and the ruler of the Outer Gods, [1] and may also be seen as a symbol for primordial chaos, [2] therefore being the most powerful entity in the entirety of the Cthulhu Mythos. In the majority of Derleth's best-known Mythos stories, the beneficent deities are referred to as the Elder Gods, and the malign deities are referred to primarily as the Great Old Ones or the Ancient Ones.

The Elder Gods could be considered the Great Old Ones' Good Counterpart (or, Depending on the Writer, Eldritch, but less lethal to humans than the others). While the Old Ones are utterly unknowable and terrifying, the Elder Gods are helpful to humanity and familiar (some live in the Dreamlands and many of them are from real-world mythologies).
