I don't need a lot of power and I don't want to spend a whole lot of money, With that in mind, right now I'm landing on the Denon AVR-S960H or Yamaha RX-V6A (yes, I know about the TSR-700.) I'm in the Denon vs. Yamaha debate right now, and was leaning towards Denon. Then I saw this review of the AVR-S960H.

Aug 6, 2024 · Very noticable next to the receiver it replaced. When I replaced the TX-NR6050 with a Denon AVR-S960H, the dynamics were back. Now 1-1/2 years later when I replaced the Denon AVR-S960H with an Onkyo TX-NR6100, I was fearful of the lost of bass dynamics again but thankfully, the NR6100 had great bass dynamics unlike the NR6050.

Possible Yamaha models are TSR700, RX-V6A, RX-A2A, or RX-A4A (though it’s over $1,000) Over the months I’ve read a lot about Denon and Yamaha AVR’s. Let’s list the real and/or perceived differences between Denon and Yamaha.

The info button won't show on screen since the source is the TV, not video passing through the receiver. If you have it, the Denon remote app can be used to show the input and output information.
