Mar 23, 2012 · While I was looking for an image for yesterday’s post on camp stoves, I came across this photo of WWII GI’s using a specially made “Pocket Stove” that was designed and manufactured for soldiers by Coleman.

Research shows pictures of this type of field stove using both styles. The burners have been removed from this stove. The intention was to install two burners from a trailer stove or a barbeque grill. These new burners would be fed from a small (easily portable) gas propane tank.
