Jan 17, 2019 · Ever since I first read about savory oatmeal on the sub, I’ve been experimenting with a lot of the seasonings and ingredients I have on hand. For example this morning I made oatmeal with garlic powder, Parmesan truffle seasoning, bacon, and shelled edamame. I also reserved some of the bacon fat and mixed it in as well. very good!

Oct 1, 2021 · But for a savory breakfast oatmeal.. maybe something like sausage, mushroom and corn gravy. Maybe add a little sauted onion and peppers on top. Peppers could be spicy or not really. Or even start with the peppers and onions in a pan, then when caramelized, start the oatmeal in them. Give it a nice sweet spicy base layer. No clue really.

Nov 14, 2020 · Repurposed beef roast, spinach, mushrooms, onions, quick oats and a little sweet thai chili sauce. Savory oatmeal is my new go to. Edit: So many comments! Glad so many are on board with the savory oatmeal thing, and to all you non believers, don’t knock it till you try it. I will try to respond to as many comments as possible.

May 28, 2018 · Not ramen, just dressed up savory oatmeal. Nothing wrong with it though, it's what I have eaten for breakfast almost every day of the last 2 years. I'm not big on sweet oatmeal. Usually too tired to go all out though. Peanut butter Sriracha and soy sauce is my go to. Takes very well with added meats, salsa and queso, chicken stock.

I do savory oatmeal for breakfast with eggs but haven't done it like this, though I do something very similar with congee and stir fry protein/veg. Any savory oatmeal fans should definitely give congee a go; it's basically rice porridge that you can season/spice up to your liking and would be a great substitute in an application like this.
