Yeah it is, there’s no such thing as a lightning rod, but you can make one with command blocks, I actually did make a lightning rod with command blocks Also if you enchant a trident for channeling, and you hit a mob outside during a thunderstorm, lightning hits it

It directs the lightning towards it, which affects a small radius around the lightning rod, but protects an even larger area from being struck. Edit: according to the wiki, flammable blocks and mobs within 2 blocks can be struck, but the protected area is 128 blocks on java and 64 on bedrock.

Dec 30, 2021 · A lightning rod doesn’t “absorb” the lightning, it merely redirects the strike. And since lightning can start a fire in a 3x3 cube centered around the point of the strike, fire can be placed at the same level as the lightning rod itself, if the block underneath has an opaque top surface, or if any adjacent block is flammable.

Lightning rods do attract lightning by diverting strikes within 128 blocks to instead strike at the rod location, 64 if you're on Bedrock. But be warned, the consequences of a lightning strike still apply to the affected area, and lightning can light nearby wooden blocks on fire.

Aug 26, 2022 · Lightning rod, more than 5 blocks away from the villagers and at least slightly higher than the hall should attract lightning to it, and away from villagers. I put a bunch of rods around the perimeter of my village (probably overkill) and moved my trading Hall underground.

Lightnings are actually unrelated to the horse skeleton mechanic If what you said was true, then yes, the lightning attracted by the lightning rod would have the same properties. This already happens with creepers and charged creepers

Nov 6, 2015 · The height of the lightning rod matters significantly as well, that is the amount of fences towering above the center of the lightning rod. The height of the base doesn't really factor in, however the actual height of the fence does matter, it's multiplied by the height of the rod + the size of the net to work out if lightning should strike.
