Parasound Zphono Phono Preamplifier Review
Feb 27, 2019 · The transformer might cost more than the Zphono, however. I'd advise using a low capacitance cable with the Zphono and a moving-magnet cartridge as that may have been the problem with my "dullness". I switched to a low capacitance BJC LC-1 cable after I had moved to the Sutherland and heard a notable improvement in the high frequencies.

Best current phono pre under $600? - Audio Science Review (ASR) …
Aug 19, 2019 · I have a Schiit Mani, Parks Audio Puffin and Parasound zPhono XRM (all under $600), plus a more expensive Pass Labs XP-15. If I could only keep one, it would be the zPhono XRM - very flexible, balanced/unbalanced outputs, stereo/mono switch, MC/MM, load selector (50-1050 ohms), gain 40-60dBs (66 balanced), etc. - and, subjectively, sounds as ...
Parasound Zphono Phono Preamplifier Review
Feb 24, 2021 · Based on this review, I traded in some old audio gear I wasn't using for a brand new Parasound Zphono. 46 db is indeed a whole lot of gain, so much so that I dare not turn the volume knob to 9 o'clock or beyond hence my ears will be ringing for days. My phono cartridge is a Sumiko Rainier with 5.0 mv output.

Feb 27, 2019 · AD797 has very low voltage noise (~1nV/sqrt(Hz) and relatively high (2pA/sqrt(Hz) current noise. NE5534 (which, by the way, is used in the Parasound Zphono if I read the photos on the net correctly) has reasonably low voltage noise (~3.5nV/sqrt(Hz) and reasonably low current noise (0.4pA/sqrt(Hz)).
Parasound XRM vs JC3 JR Phono Preamp - Audio Science Review …
Jan 26, 2022 · Background on my situation. I just upgraded my turntable from a Dual CS 5000 with a grado cartridge to the Rega 6 and Ania Pro. Plus I recently purchased the Parasound XRM which has MC capability with a dial knob for getting the right setting for the cartridge. I was able to get the Ania Pro for the same price as the standard Ania cartridge.
I can't tell a difference between 4 phono preamps
Jan 27, 2022 · Parasound Zphono XRM for $499. Primarily got this one for the XLR out, as that gives me a bit of flexibility with my Genelecs that have XLR and RCA inputs. Down the road I'm thinking I could hook it up to a MiniDSP SHD or something. Also, my cable runs from source to speaker are going to be about 40', so figured it might be good to have XLRs.
Parasound XRM vs JC3 JR Phono Preamp | Page 2 - Audio Science …
Jan 26, 2022 · I received the Parasound JC3 JR today and I spent some time comparing it to the XRM Parasound phono preamp. I am using a Rega P6 with Aria Pro cartridge, NAD preamp and McIntosh MC152 amp with Focal Aria 926 speakers. I also did testing with the Focal Clear MG's. With doing my test for the first day, I found the difference between them is one ...

Aug 11, 2022 · Comparing the ART Precision Phono Pre to the Parasound Zphono, I see that the SINAD scores are similar, but the Zphono accomplishes this with 10dB more gain. The ART Precision Phono Pre (the "ART" from here out) has a rotary variable gain control, and it can be switched to MC gain. Amir tested it set to 34dB gain for MM, and 52dB gain for MC.
