Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Secretary Manoj Pant and Home Secretary Nandini Chakraborty on Saturday visited the protest site where junior doctors are observing fast-unto-death over demands for justice for the deceased medic at a state-run hospital and workplace security.

The medics said that they were in talks with their colleagues in other states and that the proposed strike may take place across the country.

Junior doctors in West Bengal have been on a hunger strike for 15 days over the death of a colleague and workplace security issues. The protest seeks action from the state government by October 21. Theater personalities have shown support.
