Nintendo has announced it will perform a test called the 'Nintendo Switch Online: Playtest Program' which is related to a "new feature" for the online service available on the Switch.

So, this program is open for the owners of a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership, that was active since October 9, 2024 3 PM PT. They need to be 18 years old as of October 9, 2024 3 PM PT, and they need to have a Nintendo Account registered in the US, UK, Japan, France, Germany, Italy, or Spain.

Nintendo is asking those who successfully signed up for its mysterious Switch Online Playtest not to reveal what it is once it goes live. The nature of the Nintendo Switch Online: Playtest Program, which involves a 2.2GB download and runs from October 24 to November 6, is unknown.

"We request that you do not discuss or disclose content from either the Nintendo Switch Online: Playtest Program test software or website with others."

According to Nintendo, the playtest is related to "a new feature for the Nintendo Switch Online service", but hasn't divulged any details on what it could be just yet. The company is also looking to recruit people to participate in the playtest, but they must have Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack memberships to qualify.
