The Supreme Court has asked Delhi's lieutenant governor VK Saxena to file an affidavit on actions taken against those responsible for felling nearly 1,100 trees in Delhi's Ridge area for road widening.

A plea in Supreme Court alleged that Delhi Lt Governor VK Saxena, who is also the DDA Chairman, ordered the felling of trees on February 3.

The Supreme Court has directed Delhi LG V K Saxena to file an affidavit by October 22 concerning alleged tree felling in the Delhi Ridge area. The court seeks clarity on whether the DDA chairperson was aware of the court's permission for felling trees.
