Dust storms have proven deadly to motorists across the U.S. for years. Authorities say a dust storm last week reduced visibility to nearly zero on Interstate 70 in western Kansas.

A Barrington native on her way back to visit family said it's a miracle she and her partner survived being caught in a Kansas dust storm highway pileup involving more than 70 vehicles.
