India has qualified for the semi-final while hosts and defending champions Pakistan are knocked out. New Zealand's victory over Bangladesh means that the two semi-finalists from the group are decided with two matches left.

Matt Henry will lead the pace attack and has been New Zealand's highest wicket-taker in the last couple of years with 39 dismissals in 24 matches at a little less than 25 apiece. Skipper, Mitchell Santner will be key in the middle overs and has also bagged 30 wickets at an economy of 4.76 since 2023.

The 2025 Champions Trophy gets underway on Tuesday, with hosts Pakistan taking on New Zealand in Karachi. After a turbulent build-up, which was plagued by uncertainty over whether and where India would play their games, the tournament returns from an eight-year hiatus.

New Zealand sealed a semifinal spot in the Champions Trophy after cruising past Bangladesh by five wickets on the back of Rachin Ravindra’s century on Monday. The victory with nearly four overs to spare also advanced India to the semifinals and eliminated tournament host and defending champion Pakistan and Bangladesh from contention.

India sits atop the Group A points table in ICC Champions Trophy 2025 with four points. To secure a semifinal spot, they need just one favorable result in the group. If that happens, the outcome of India's final league-stage match against New Zealand will have no impact on their qualification.
