Geraint Thomas has officially announced that he will be ending his professional cycling career at the end of the 2025 season. The Welshman made the statement in a post to Instagram on Monday morning, with his 19th year in the peloton set to be his last.

Tour de France winner and two-time Olympic gold medallist Geraint Thomas will retire as a racing cyclist at the end of the season, the Briton said in a social media post on Monday.

Geraint Thomas, the former Tour de France champion who also won gold medals in track cycling for Great Britain at the Olympic Games in 2008 and '12, announced Monday that this will be his final year as a professional.
