Suspect dies after employee fires shot during robbery at Clinton Township donut shop
It happened around 12:45 p.m. Thursday at the Golden Donuts on Harper Avenue. Police say the man, believed to be in his mid-30s, came in with a gun and demanded money. That's when an employee pulled out a gun and fired a shot, which is believed to have struck the suspect.

Clinton Township police responded to a report of an armed robbery in progress at Golden Donuts in the 34000 block of Harper Avenue around 12:45 p.m. Thursday.

An employee then allegedly produced a firearm and discharged a shot, "which is believed to have struck the suspect," the release stated. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle, which was located by detectives a short distance from the doughnut shop. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later was pronounced dead.
