One of the NFL's most decorated officiating experts agrees with the handling of controversial penalties in the Chiefs-Texans game.

Kansas City was facing a 3rd-and-8 in their own territory when Mahomes threw an incomplete pass intended for Travis Kelce. However, Texans' pass rusher Will Anderson Jr. was called for roughing the passer on the play, which allowed the Chiefs to extend the drive.

Whereas the Chiefs were flagged four times for 29 yards in front of their home crowd, the visiting Texans were called for eight infractions resulting in a loss of 82 yards. The volume itself was not the main gripe for the team afterwards, but rather the nature of some of the calls.
