Mercedes-Benz denies V-8 rumors, confirming the C63 AMG will keep its F1-inspired 4-cylinder hybrid powertrain.

This new report is also consistent with the rumor that the new V-8 will switch from a cross-plane to flat-plane crank design.

Along with the latest on Benz's plans for big engines and even bigger power, which puts a new V8 in the AMG lineup, but looks like it will not make it into the C63. At least not in this generation.
