As intermittent rain continued in several parts of North India, the IMD has predicted a fall in the minimum temperature by 3-5 degrees Celsius in the next two days.

North India is shivering under a severe cold wave, with temperatures plummeting in states like Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.

The cold is also affecting Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Rajasthan, with an "severe" AQI in Delhi, making the situation more challenging for residents.

Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana are expected to see severe cold temperatures and heavy rainfall, according to the weather service. The districts of Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, and Mandi in Himachal Pradesh are under an orange alert,

The cold wave-like situation in India is likely to grow intense in the coming days. Rainfall is predicted in Delhi-NCR and nearby regions, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and other states in the next three days,

As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a weather disturbance along with easterly winds is set to influence the weather patterns, resulting in downpours, hailstorms, and thunderstorms in Northwest and Central India on December 27 and December 28.

Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Punjab regions are expected to witness cold day conditions on December 27 and 28, said IMD.
