Slew Of Bomb Threats Disrupt Air India Flights To U.S.Including Diversion To Canada
NEW DELHI – An Air India flight from Mumbai to New York (AI119) was diverted to New Delhi on October 14 following a specific security alert. The aircraft, with 239 passengers on board, made an emergency landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport, where all passengers and crew were safely evacuated.

After being escorted off the plane Tuesday morning, they learned of the bomb threat. Then came the shock of Nunavut’s 1 C temperatures. The passengers were ferried onto a Canadian Armed Forces’ aircraft and landed in Chicago mid-day Wednesday.
Akasa Air Emergency Response teams advised the pilot to divert the flight to IGI Airport in Delhi, the airline said.
The Delhi Police have launched an investigation into numerous bomb threats targeting domestic and international flights.
