Video shows the moment a Florida driver was hit by a Brightline train. Officials said the crash happened as the driver ran through a railroad crossing while the arms were down. The train slammed into the back half of the vehicle as the driver tried to speed past. Officials said one person was hurt in the crash.

A car and a Brightline train collided in North Miami Beach today, tearing the vehicle in half and sending the driver to the hospital with injuries. The incident occurred around 10 a.m. near the intersection of Northeast 163rd Street and Biscayne Boulevard.

One person is reportedly hospitalized after a Brightline train slammed into a car in North Miami Beach, according to NBC affiliate WTVJ.

They are on leave “pending the results of an internal administrative investigation to determine if City and Fire Rescue policies and procedures were followed,” the fire chief said.

The accident happened at the intersection near Northeast 165th Street and Biscayne Boulevard around 10 a.m., where Chopper 4 caught glimpses of a black car with its back smashed in and the Brightline train involved at a halt with front end damage as well.
