Early crew members of the voyaging canoe Hokulea have gathered in Hawaii to celebrate the vessel's 50th birthday.

Hōkūleʻa's crew was transported to the shore of Kualoa Regional Park where they were welcomed by the Polynesian Voyaging Society, and Hakipuʻu and waʻa ʻohana.

Last year, sous chef Joey Lizama was tasked with revamping the menu at HāLani restaurant, located in the Mauna Lani resort along Hawai‘i Island’s South Kohala coast.
