A Garner man was arrested Wednesday after being charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer to commit sexual assault last week, a warrant shows.

A Garner man was arrested Wednesday after police say he impersonated an officer during a sexual assault. Michael Sanchez Jones, 39, is charged with first-degree kidnapping, first-degree forcible sex offense and impersonating law enforcement in the Feb. 7 offense, according to his arrest warrant.

According to court documents, 39-year-old Michael Sanchez Jones on Feb. 7 impersonated an officer and threatened to arrest a woman if she did not engage in sexual acts with him.
