A North Texas high school closed Thursday due to a malfunctioning heater as frigid temperatures linger. Three broilers at Plano East Senior High School were not working, causing “uncomfortably cold conditions” in several classrooms across multiple buildings,

The bitterly cold temperatures that have enveloped southern Manitoba have forced some school divisions to cancel classes for Tuesday, and others to cancel bus service.

School districts have not called off class at this point. A blast of Arctic air will drop temperatures below freezing on Tuesday night, and we could see some icy spots on the roads. We don't expect to see any snow or ice falling on Wednesday,
