More than 100 workers were left blindsided, and more than 8,000 community members who rely on the services provided by Heartland Alliance Health are scrambling.

Employees have been told that the two clinics will close Feb. 26, and the organization’s three food pantry locations will close Feb. 22.

The community health care nonprofit is shuttering and will close its Uptown and Englewood clinics and three food pantries by April. The closure comes less than a year after the group broke off from parent organization Heartland Alliance.
