TAMPA BAY -- Another Atlantic Division clash in the Sunshine State is up next for the Detroit Red Wings, who will go head-to-head with the Tampa Bay Lightning at AMALIE Arena on Saturday night.

Anaheim opened the scoring 6:03 into the game on a redirection by forward Troy Terry, but the Lightning tied the score eight minutes later on the power play. Hedman got the puck at the left point and fed forward Brandon Hagel in the right corner, where the latter passed the puck to Anthony Cirelli at the back post for a tap-in and a tie game.

Tampa Bay Lightning captain Victor Hedman became the first player in franchise history to reach 600 assists on Thursday night against the Anaheim Ducks. Back in November, the veteran defenseman earned the top spot on the Lightning's all time assist record, passing Martin St. Louis who recorded 588 assists throughout his 13 seasons in Tampa Bay.

The Lightning and their hulking defenseman will finish a two-game homestand Saturday night against the sizzling Detroit Red Wings in the opener of four matchups between the Atlantic Division foes.

Thursday’s moves were transformative, because the personnel and positional changes made it difficult to tell which was the top unit and which was the second. Point men Victor Hedman and Darren Raddysh switched units, with Brayden Point and Jake Guentzel matched with Raddysh.

Hedman put up an assist Thursday in a 4-3 shootout win over the Ducks. It was a big night for the big defender. Hedman is the fourth defenseman from Sweden to reach 600 NHL assists, joining Nicklas Lidstrom (878),

Jake Guentzel scored the only shootout goal as the Tampa Bay Lightning earned a 4-3 victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday night.

His shot deflected off a Devils' player and past Jacob Markstrom. Hedman has a point in each of his last two games after putting up just four points (one goal, three assists) in his previous 11 contests. Overall, he has six goals, 25 assists, 65 blocks and 91 shots in 38 games this season.

David Pastrnak and Pavel Zacha each logged a goal and two assists and Jeremy Swayman tied his career-high mark with 43 saves as the Boston Bruins beat the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning 6-2 on Tuesday night.

Jake Guentzel scored the only goal in the shootout and the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Anaheim Ducks 4-3 on Tuesday night. Brayden Point, Anthony Cirelli and Guentzel scored for Tampa Bay during regulation while Andrei Vasilevskiy finished with 34 saves and stopped all three shots he faced in the shootout.

Robby Fabbri, Troy Terry and Leo Carlsson score for the Ducks, who fall to 1-3-1 on their six-game trip when Guentzel scores the only goal for either team in the shootout to hand them a 4-3 defeat.

The 20-year-old is getting used to living on his own and coping with the mental challenge that comes with playing in the NHL.
