Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported Saturday that a deal was close involving Miller but ultimately wasn’t finalized.

The Devils were linked to Miller in multiple reports last week as the Canucks reportedly weigh trade options. Despite Miller’s rumored feud with teammate Elias Pettersson — which the two have denied — the Devils would have to present a large trade package if they want Miller.

The New York Rangers are reportedly trying to trade for Canucks center J.T. Miller. But Adam Proteau says they can't make a Miller trade make sense for them right now.

“The New Jersey Devils have been a late entrant and have held talks with the Canucks on J.T.
