The Cleveland Guardians brought back former outfielder Tyler Naquin on a minor league contract Thursday -- but this time around, he will try to make the team as a pitcher.
Tyler Naquin, who spent parts of two seasons with the Cincinnati Reds and last played in MLB in 2023 with the Chicago White Sox, signed a minor-league contract with the Cleveland Guardians, converted to a right-handed pitcher and reported to Goodyear, where both teams train.
The Cleveland Guardians re-signed a free agent with eight years of MLB experience as an outfielder as he attempts to convert to pitching.
Chicago White Sox fans were optimistic when a report said billionaire Justin Ishbia was trying to buy more shares of the team. But the Sox said he wouldn’t take control from Jerry Reinsdorf.
