California voters will determine the fate of 10 propositions on Nov. 5 — including issues about rent control, marriage equality, climate change, raising the minimum wage, stiffer penalties for stealing and drugs and paying incarcerated people in prison.

Voters will decide whether California should raise its minimum wage to $18 an hour, which would put it at the highest in the United States.

In California, most voters do not need to show identification at polling places, according to the California Secretary of State. However, first-time voters who registered by mail without providing a driver license number, state ID or the last four digits of their Social Security number might be required to show identification.

The question that bears repeating is what have our politicians and bureaucrats done to prove that they need more?
