The first thing viewers of “Beyond the Gates” see is a black Mercedes gliding past manicured lawns and stately estates.

The history-making series is the first one-hour, day-time drama to feature a predominantly Black and multicultural cast. The new soap opera follows the successful and influential Dupree family. Natasha Brown talked with stars Tamara Tunie and Daphnee Duplaix about the show.

Less than a week remains until Beyond the Gates debuts on CBS, and the cast is sharing their excitement about the soap, premiering Feb. 24.
