The Bills on Sunday released pass rusher Von Miller ahead of the league year. The move opens up $8.4 million in cap space, helping the team to get under the cap before the new league year, which starts Wednesday.

In a move that saves the team some cap space, the Buffalo Bills on Sunday are releasing eight-time Pro Bowl selection Von Miller, according to multiple reports. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport was first to report the news.

Miller and the Bills are reportedly open to a reunion. Since entering the league as the second overall pick in 2011, Miller has become one of the league’s top pass rushers. The DeSoto product and former Texas A&M standout has posted 129.5 sacks throughout his NFL career, currently ranking 16th on the league’s list of leaders for the statistic.
