Sources tell Deadline, Lionsgate has closed a deal for John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein to write a screenplay based on Hasbro’s classic board game.

John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are going from Dungeons & Dragons to Park Ave, closing a deal to write a movie based on the board game Monopoly. Lionsgate is behind the project that is being produced by Barbie outfit LuckyChap and Hasbro Entertainment.

The Monopoly movie has had an exciting update – it will be written by the writers and directors of Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. According to Deadline, a deal has been closed for John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein to pen the script for the Lionsgate movie, which is based on the iconic Hasbro board game.
