After an extensive three-week search, authorities have suspended the use of divers and cadaver dogs in the search for missing metro Atlanta coach and teacher Gary Jones on Lake Oconee.

Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills says he's partially suspending the search on Lake Oconee for Atlanta coach Gary Jones. Cadaver dogs and divers will take the backseat for the time being due to weather conditions.

The dive team search for missing teacher Gary Jones in Lake Oconee has been called off until further notice, according to Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills.

The divers are highly trained and experienced with diving in murky, obstacle-studded water. The Emergency Dive Response Team, a nonprofit based at Lake Lanier, has brought in volunteer divers to search areas thick with submerged timber.

The search for missing teacher Gary Jones in Lake Oconee is continuing. Saturday marks three weeks since Jones and his fiancée, Joycelyn Wilson, went boating on Lake Oconee and vanished. Wilson’s body was pulled from the water the next day.
