As several southern states continue to be lashed by heavy rainfall, the respective state governments have instructed the district officials to announce school holidays. Parts of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh have been reeling under heavy showers for a few days now.

The government of Andhra Pradesh released the updated holiday calendar 2024 on November 30, 2023. As per latest update, schools will remain closed till October 17 due to heavy rainfall. Sri Sathya Sai district has announced closure from October 15 to 17,
