Amazon.com said on Tuesday that its cloud computing division, Amazon Web Services (AWS), plans to invest about $11 billion to expand its infrastructure in Georgia to support cloud computing and AI technologies.

The investment aims to meet the increased demand for advanced cloud infrastructure and compute power, driven by generative AI, it said.

AWS’ Georgia investment is the latest in a series of 10-figure data center expansion initiatives the company has announced over the past two years.
