Pakistan, South Africa & New Zealand would engage in a triple threat battle in a Tri-Nation series as they prepare for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

The ODI tri-series format is all set to make a comeback as Pakistan welcome New Zealand and South Africa to their shores in what is seen as a dress rehersal before the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy. The matches will be played in the revamped stadiums in Karachi and Lahore.

Rival captains Mohammad Rizwan and Mitchell Santner said on Friday that Pakistan and New Zealand’s weekend clash in a tri-nation series will be a dress rehearsal for their Champions Trophy showdown.

South Africa have announced a 12-member squad for the first match of the tri-series against New Zealand and Pakistan. SA are set to take on New Zealand in their first encounter on February 10. The team will be led by Temba Bavuma and features six players who are yet to play for their country in international cricket.

For the sides, it offers the opportunity for match practice in conditions where most of the Champions Trophy will be held
