Jaishankar is likely to address the issue in Parliament with a statement planned for the Rajya Sabha. The 104 Indians, who had illegally entered the US, were deported on a US military aircraft which landed in Amritsar on February 5. This comes as part of the Donald Trump administration's crackdown against illegal immigrants.

Foreign Minister S Jaishankar met prime minister Narendra Modi amid the issue around deportation of 104 Indians who entered USA illegally. Jaishankar is also expected to deliver a statement in Rajya Sabha at 2pm today.

It took Daler Singh six months and $45,000 to reach the United States last month without paperwork. Within three weeks of his arrival, he was sent back to his native India on a military plane, his hands and legs cuffed throughout the journey.
