Flan is one of those desserts that always seems ... Pour the caramel into a deep, ungreased 9-inch cake pan and rotate it until the bottom and sides are coated. Set the pan aside.

Slowly and evenly pour the flan mixture over the chocolate cake batter. Place the tube pan in a roasting pan, and pour enough water into the roasting pan to come halfway up the sides of the tube pan.
