One day after 53 cars were involved in a fatal crash in Orange County, victims of the accident are picking up the pieces.

A man died on Friday after he was involved in a single-vehicle crash in Irvine on Thursday afternoon, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 3:34 p.m. at the intersection of Campus Drive and Turtle Rock Drive just outside of the UC Irvine campus,

A deadly crash has closed all lanes of I-40 West south of Hillsborough at Exit 261, Old NC 86. One person died and several others were injured. About 50 vehicles were involved. The road was originally expected to reopen by 6:30 p.m. but it remains closed at 9:30 p.m.

All lanes of I-85 westbound have reopened near Hillsborough after being closed for nearly 9 hours. Florida Highway Patrol conducted extensive traffic stops on Wednesday to address road safety concerns in Southwest Florida.
