The Met Office has issued an Amber Severe Weather Warning for Northern Ireland as Storm Ashley intensifies. The warning is currently in place for Sunday, October 20, and Monday, October 21. More than 100 flood warnings remained in place across the UK on Monday after Storm Ashley made its presence felt. A yellow weather alert for wind, issued by the Met Office, was in place until 9am on Monday morning across the north and east of Scotland and north-east England.

The yellow warning applies to all counties from 3am to midnight, however the amber warning applies from 1pm today until 8pm and is for Counties Antrim, Fermanagh, Londonderry and Tyrone. Winds are expected to reach 60-70mph in this period. The Met Office warns to expect:
