An 84-year-old man was killed and his wife seriously injured when a dump truck crashed into their Missouri home, authorities say. Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers said the 70-year-old dump truck driver traveled off the side of an Owensville road around 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, before striking a utility pole, parking post and tree.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol posted on X around 11:30 a.m. that troopers responded to a crash at a home on Missouri Route 19 in Owensville, Missouri. A dump truck had traveled off the road and plowed into the house, according to the highway patrol. Two residents of the home were struck by the truck. One of the residents was killed.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the crash happened after the dump truck traveled off the roadway on MO 19 and struck two occupants inside of the home, leaving one dead at the scene.
