Storm Ashley is set to batter parts of the UK this weekend with amber and yellow weather warnings now in place for parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and in both northern and southwest England

A Met Office weather warning has been upgraded after forecasters confirmed that Storm Ashley is set to hit the UK on Sunday. A deep area of low pressure which will impact the Republic of Ireland and parts of the UK on Sunday and Monday has been named by Met Éireann – the Irish weather service.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain in Devon, as Storm Ashley is expected to batter the county with heavy rainfall in the early hours of Sunday morning (October 20). The weather warning is in effect from 3am until midday on Sunday and covers large areas of the south-west, including Devon, Cornwall and Somerset.
