Ichiro Suzuki has become the first Japanese player to make it to baseball's Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani is likely to be the next.

Ichiro Suzuki became the first Japanese player chosen for baseball's Hall of Fame, falling one vote shy of unanimous when he was elected Tuesday along with CC Sabathia and Billy Wagner.

The three players will be honored July 26-28 in Cooperstown, N.Y., along with two players selected by the Classic Baseball Era Committee: Dave Parker and the late Dick Allen. The ceremony will also recognize broadcaster Tom Hamilton and writer Thomas Boswell.
