Iga Swiatek has annoounced on social media that she will be ending the WTA 2024 season with Wim Fissette as her new coach.

World No. 1 Iga Swiatek has added Belgian Wim Fissette, a former coach to top-ranked players like Naomi Osaka, Kim Clijsters and Victoria Azarenka to her team, the 23-year-old Pole said on Thursday.

And now, Swiatek has hired Fissette, who was Naomi Osaka's long-time coach. After guiding the Japanese to two Grand Slam victories in 2019 and 2020 in their first stint, the two reunited at the start of this season but split after the US Open.

Iga Swiatek has appointed Wim Fissette as her latest coach ahead of a “new chapter” for the world No. 1, who has described her career as “a marathon, not a sprint”. In a social media post on Thursday, the 23-year-old revealed that she has teamed up with the Belgian ahead of the WTA Finals in November.
