Outbreaks of rain will affect northern and western parts through the day today. The rain will be heavy at times, leading to some localised disruption. It will be drier towards the east and southeast of England in particular.

Some areas could see up to three inches of rain in six hours as a band of wet weather tracks across the UK today. Wales, the South West and northern England will be the worst affected, with the Met Office warning there could be more flooding.

Temperatures could hit 20C in parts of the UK on Wednesday, while flooding is possible amid yellow weather warnings for heavy rain, the Met Office said. Another yellow warning has been issued from midday Wednesday to midnight and includes north-east and north-west England and Yorkshire and Humber.
