Samsung might make a thin version of the Galaxy S25 that will compete against the iPhone 17 Air, but you'll have to wait for the FE variant.

As reported by Hankyung, Samsung has not yet ruled out using the Exynos 2500 chip in the Galaxy S25 series. The company is expected to make the decision between late October and early November. It cannot take long, as the mass production phase of the next Galaxy flagship phones will begin in the coming weeks.

According to the report, the Galaxy S25 FE will have the same 6.7-inch screen size as the recently released Galaxy S24 FE. However, it would seem that Samsung plans to use a thinner, but wider, battery to help slim the phone down. The Galaxy S24 FE was around 8.8mm thick, so the difference likely won't be huge but will still be noticeable.

Samsung could make a final decision if it will be going ahead with Exynos 2500 processor in the upcoming Galaxy S25 series or not.

The main reason Samsung is installing Exynos processors in its flagship Galaxy S-line series of handsets is because of price.
