After 11 days of registering a thumping victory in the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday picked Rekha Gupta as new chief minister of Delhi. Rekha Gupta was unanimously elected as the leader of the legislative group by newly elected BJP MLAs.

Rekha Gupta will be sworn-in as Delhi Chief Minister on Thursday (February 20). She is an MLA from Shalimar Bagh. Gupta defeated AAP's Bandana Kumari by a margin of 29,595 votes, according to the Election Commission (EC) of India.
