Chandigarh: Nayab Singh Saini was on Wednesday chosen as the leader of the Haryana BJP Legislature Party in a meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Chandigarh.Nayab Saini will now take oath as Haryana Chief Minister for the second time on October 17.

The BJP had named Nayab Singh Saini, who replaced M L Khattar on the top post, as the party’s CM face ahead of the Assembly polls.

Panchkula: Nayab Singh Saini was unanimously elected as the leader of the BJP legislature party in Haryana here on Wednesday. Newly elected Haryana BJP MLAs elected Saini in a meeting, which was also attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav as central observers.

Nayab Singh Saini, 54, was elected as the state legislature party leader during a meeting of Haryana BJP MLAs at the BJP office in Panchkula.

Nayab Singh Saini was the BJP's chief ministerial face in the recently concluded Haryana Assembly elections. The BJP secured a third term, winning 48 seats against the Congress's 37 in the 90-member Haryana Assembly.

Union home minister Amit Shah, Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav will be central observers at meeting on eve of swearing-in ceremony in Panchkula.

BJP leaders Tarun Chugh and Satish Poonia on Monday held a meeting in Panchkula with some of the leaders from Haryana to take stock of preparations for the swearing-in ceremony of the new party-led government in the state slated for October 17.
