After being deported from the United States, a group of Indian nationals was sent back from Amritsar Airport following a thorough investigation. The deportation comes as part of ongoing scrutiny of visa holders and immigration procedures in the US.

A US military aircraft carrying 104 illegal immigrants from various states landed here on Wednesday, the first such batch of Indians deported by the Trump government as part of a crackdown it resolved

The 'illegal' Indian immigrants deported from the US included at least 30 from Punjab, 33 each from Haryana and Gujarat, 3 from Maharashtra, and 2 each from Chandigarh and Uttar Pradesh.
