Waterfall itself is wonderful but route to reach it is full of people going both directions as the path ends beyond the waterfall. It's almost impossible to take a picture due the amount of people.Full review by JaroslavNecas

I will be visiting Plitvice Falls next April and I am wondering if it is easy enough to do without a tour? Can an American family navigate it and explore it on their own? I especially want to make sure I can find that hard-to-find trail to the Veliki Slap landing where you get a birds eye view of the falls. Is this all possible to do without a tour guide or would you guys recommend getting an expert?
